According to ESPN news, during the Australian Open, Roger Federer who won over Janko Tipsarevic played the longest 5th set tennis match of his career. After 4 hours of game, Federer was able to gain the title of being the No.1 in Australian Open.
Their fight was very close that there were frequent ties during the match. Indeed, Tipsarevic was also a really great opponent. They were both competitive, no wonder that the game lasted for 4 hours. I just imagine the excitement among the audience. But just like in any other game, there must be a winner and a loser. Federer was lucky that time that he was able to smell the victory he is aiming.

Now this is what I call a good game! Tim Thomas is proving that the Boston Bruins have a better defensive system with him as the goaltender. To imagine, he stopped 25 attempts with the aggressive Islanders. Even though they stand in the middle in terms of rankings, they are showing very good potential. But to win 9 out of their 10 remaining games seems to be a stretch for any team. I am hoping that with the impressive skills Thomas is showing, they can squeeze their way up in terms of rank. Anyway, anything is possible, right?

Track star Marion Jones pleaded guilty for steroid use during the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2001 World Olympics. As a result, all her medals during that period will be forfeited and her winnings are to be returned amounting to $700,000. The runners up in all events participated by Jones would be upgraded to their proper positions.
She deserves this for tainting the reputation of the Olympics. What happened to clean and honest games? Why did you even bother becoming an athlete if you will use performance enhancing drugs? I hope this would serve as a lesson to all athletes.

Manchester super star Ched Evans just saved Wales with a finishing goal. The twenty two year old rising prodigy was able to indulge in plenty of free ball passes until Iceland got back their groove and retaliated against Wales for not taking the most out of the early advantage. Pami Palson was able to scrum free of the boxed situation with a low shot but it was blocked by Craig Morgan just in time to put up the team’s challenge. The players displayed suave reflexes in the game but in the end, the win was Wales. Congrats Chad!
