Isiah Thomas is now officially fired from being the coach of the New York Knicks AND being the team’s president. He was fired after a season of unimaginable basketball, a lawsuit, and demands from fans.

Thomas’ team lost 59 games this season and somehow seemed to have lost the support from his players because his players didn’t play as they used to.

Donnie Walsh took over as team president last April 2 and chose to change coaches. He wants a new coach by June and is eyeing Mark Jackson or Herb Williams.

Players Against Drugs

In New York, the goal to eliminate drug use among athletes is very tough. There are frequent drug tests done among baseball players. Last Friday there was an agreement which ensures that there will be no Mitchell Report anymore. With this agreement, I hope that each players and owners will be responsible and disciplined enough to play clean and to live clean.

This is a great move because it is better to play a fair game knowing that you’ve won not because of any performance-enhancing drugs but because of your own skills and ability. Visit this site for more detailed news about this issue: news.yahoo.com.

According to ESPN news, during the Australian Open, Roger Federer who won over Janko Tipsarevic played the longest 5th set tennis match of his career. After 4 hours of game, Federer was able to gain the title of being the No.1 in Australian Open.

Their fight was very close that there were frequent ties during the match. Indeed, Tipsarevic was also a really great opponent. They were both competitive, no wonder that the game lasted for 4 hours. I just imagine the excitement among the audience. But just like in any other game, there must be a winner and a loser. Federer was lucky that time that he was able to smell the victory he is aiming.
